EXPERIENCE:More than thirty five years experience including ten years consulting experience specializing in safety engineering, ergonomics, human factors, and safety management. Additional experience includes serving as Director, Plant Protection and Senior Engineer, Plant Protection with safety responsibilities in a large chemical manufacturing facility and operating management and engineering positions responsible for the handling, storage, and shipment of hazardous materials, pipeline operations, and the manufacture, storage, and shipment of bulk plastic materials..Areas of experience include: Accident investigations and cause analysis, accident prevention programs, ergonomic assessments, human factors analysis, biomechanics, lifting safety, manual material handling, human and machine interfaces, behavioral safety, warnings and instructions, risk assessment, premises safety (stairs, ramps, walkways), hazardous material safety (rail tank car and tank truck loading, drum filling, storage tanks, pipelines, underground salt dome storage caverns, transportation safety), emergency response planning, OSHA regulatory compliance, Process Safety Management (PSM), OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), EPA risk management plans, railroad safety, fire protection, confined space entry, lock-out procedures, fall hazards, excavations, fork-lifts and other powered industrial trucks, cranes and hoists; machine guarding, bulk storage silos, pneumatic transfer equipment, training program development, ISO certifications.
